Official Rules
Draft for legal review. Not in force.
Last updated October 20, 2026
These are the rules of the Bounty Box Golden Ticket Sweepstakes. They say who can enter, how, what can be won, and how winners are chosen. By entering, you agree to them.
Sponsor
The sweepstakes is run by [TBD: sponsor legal name], doing business as Bounty Box ("Bounty Box", "we" or "us"), [TBD: sponsor mailing address].
The restaurants that hand out Bounty Box sheets take part in the sweepstakes. They are not its sponsors and are not responsible for it.
No purchase necessary
No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase does not improve your chances of winning. Void where prohibited.
Who can enter
You can enter if, when you enter, you are:
- A legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
- 18 years old or older.
- The parent or legal guardian of the child who completed the sheet.
Employees of Bounty Box, and the members of their households, can't enter. [TBD: whether the staff of participating restaurants can enter.]
Entry period
The sweepstakes begins at [TBD: start date, time and time zone] and ends at [TBD: end date, time and time zone]. An entry counts only if it is completed in that period.
How to enter
Ask for a Bounty Box sheet at a participating restaurant. Each sheet hides a secret code for a child to crack. Then a parent or guardian:
- Scans the QR code on the sheet, or goes to bounty.box/enter and types the sheet ID printed beside the QR code.
- Types the 5-character code from the sheet. Entered after a scan, a code with one character wrong is accepted. At bounty.box/enter, the code must match exactly. [TBD: the screens show the child typing the code and passing the phone to the grown-up for the form.]
- Taps "I'm the grown-up", and on the form, which is for parents and guardians only, gives their first name, their cell number, whether they are local or visiting, and a ZIP code when visiting. [TBD: whether "I'm the grown-up" is enough of a parent's word before the form.]
- Taps "Unlock the treasure". [TBD: the form says "By continuing, you agree to the Official Rules and Privacy Policy." under this button, after the tap it speaks of; the lawyer to say whether it must stand above it.]
Another sheet at the same restaurant, from the same phone, within three hours of the form: the screen says the details given for the first sheet will be used, and tapping "I'm the grown-up" enters that sheet with them, with no form and no questions after it. The answer about the restaurant's offers stays the one given on the form. To give other details, tap the button under it that ends "Enter new details" instead. [TBD: whether one tap is enough of a grown-up's word for the entry, which the child holding the phone could make.]
Each sheet can be entered once. The first entry of a sheet is the only one that counts.
The question about the restaurant's offers by text asks Yes or No. Either answer leads on, and neither changes your chances.
The two questions after the form, what would bring you back and when you usually visit, are optional. Answering them, or not, does not change your chances.
A review is no part of entering: leaving one, or not, does not change your chances.
Free method of entry
You can get a sheet without visiting a restaurant. Email [TBD: free entry mailbox] or write to [TBD: sponsor mailing address] with your name and mailing address, and we will mail you a sheet. [TBD: limit, for example one sheet per request and per household.]
A mailed sheet is entered the same way as any other. It belongs to a batch of its own, with Golden Tickets at the same ratio to sheets as the restaurants' batches. [TBD: the lawyer to confirm that this is the same chance.]
Requests must be received by [TBD: date].
Prizes
Golden Tickets: [TBD: each prize and its approximate retail value, for example a $50 digital gift card]. Each batch of [TBD: number] sheets has [TBD: number] Golden Tickets. The approximate retail value of all the Golden Tickets in the sweepstakes is [TBD: total].
A Golden Ticket prize is a digital gift card, sent by text message within 48 hours to the cell number given with the entry. [TBD: who sends the text, and from what number.]
An entry that does not get a Golden Ticket reveals a collectible card: a picture to save, with no cash value. It is not a prize. [TBD: the lawyer to reword this line: before the chest opens, the form says "Let's get prize-ready!", whichever it holds.]
A participating restaurant may offer its own reward to every family that completes the Bounty. That reward is the restaurant's offer, comes from the restaurant, and is not part of the sweepstakes.
[TBD: the lawyer to word the free drink that a restaurant with a reward and a Yelp link offers for a Yelp review, shown in place of its reward (ADR 0049), with Yelp's guidelines and the FTC's rule on reviews in mind.]
How Golden Tickets are decided
Every sheet belongs to a batch, printed together, and each batch has its own Golden Tickets. A Golden Ticket is decided by computer at the moment of entry, from the Golden Tickets of the batch the sheet belongs to.
Your chance at that moment is the number of the batch's Golden Tickets still left, divided by the number of entries still expected from the batch, and never less than one entry. It is worked out again for every entry. The entries expected from a batch are its number of sheets times the share of sheets we expect to be entered, [TBD: the expected share, for example 35%]. Once as many Golden Tickets are left as entries are expected, every entry gets one.
We keep a record of each decision and the numbers it was made with.
One sheet of each batch is kept by Bounty Box to show how the game works, and is never handed out. [TBD: whether its Golden Ticket is one of the batch's, and whether it counts among the batch's entries if it is ever entered.]
Odds
The odds of a Golden Ticket depend on how many eligible entries come from each batch. For example, with 3 Golden Tickets in a batch of 150 sheets, if 35% of the sheets are entered, the odds are about 1 in 18. [TBD: the pilot's numbers.]
If fewer entries come from a batch than expected, some of its Golden Tickets may not be given out. If more come, an entry after the batch's last Golden Ticket reveals a collectible card.
Winners
A winner sees the Golden Ticket on screen right away, with a claim reference. We text the prize within 48 hours to the cell number given with the entry.
Before we send a prize, we may ask the winner to confirm by text that they meet these rules. [TBD: whether a signed declaration is needed.]
Unclaimed prizes
A prize is forfeited if its text cannot be delivered, if the winner does not answer a request to confirm within [TBD: number] days, or if the winner does not meet these rules. [TBD: whether a forfeited prize goes to a later entry or is not awarded.]
Golden Tickets not decided by the end of the entry period are [TBD: not awarded].
Conditions
- A sheet that is copied or altered, or that did not come from a participating restaurant or the free method of entry, is void.
- Anyone who tampers with the sweepstakes, or enters under more than one identity to get around these rules, is disqualified.
- A prize cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. If a prize is not available, Bounty Box may give one of equal or greater value.
- Winners are responsible for any taxes on their prize.
- [TBD: whether a family can get more than one Golden Ticket.]
- Bounty Box is not responsible for entries that are lost, late or incomplete, or for a phone, network or website that does not work.
